NZ vs PAK 3rd ODI Highlights: Ben Sears Leads Kiwis to 3-0 Whitewash Over Pakistan

The New Zealand Cricket Team has registered a 3-0 whitewash on Pakistan in the NZ vs PAK ODI series. The Black Caps had previously sealed the series 2-0 and now went on to add more salt in the wounds of the Men in Green. The Kiwis defeated Pakistan in a rain-curtailed game at the Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, by 43 runs to ensure a cleansweep. Ben Sears bagged the headlines after bagging a stunning fifer.

Rain disrupted the game, and as a result, it was reduced to a 42-over match for both sides. Batting first, the hosts went on to register a good score of 264 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Opener Rhys Mariu showcased his mettle with a brilliant knock of 58 runs from 61 deliveries. Daryl Mitchell's 43-run knock and a late finish from captain Michael Bracewell (59 runs from 40 balls) helped the Kiwis post a decent total on the board.

Akif Javed was the best bowler for the Men in Green. The pacer bagged 4 crucial wickets while young pacer Naseem Shah managed to scalp 2 wickets.

Pakistan, however, lost their tempo in their run chase. Opener Imam-ul-Haq was retired hurt. The southpaw left the field in an ambulance after being hit on his helmet while taking a run. Usman Khan was brought on as the concussion substitute.

For Pakistan, the batters failed to consolidate their chances. Former captain Babar Azam notched up a brilliant half-century (50 runs from 58 deliveries). Opener Abdullah Shafique managed to score 33 runs to give his side a good start.

On the other hand, the middle and lower order collapsed. Kiwi bowler Ben Sears bagged a fifer to crumble Pakistan's batting order. Captain Mohammad Rizwan, managed to score 37 runs while Tayyab Tahir scored 33 runs. But those runs ultimately fell short as the visitors were bowled out for 221 runs in 40 overs.
