Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will battle it out against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match 13 of the Indian Premier League (IPL). LSG will be playing their first home game at Ekana Stadium. The Rishabh Pant-led franchise are on a roll after thrashing SRH by five wickets. Their inexperienced bowling lineup, led by Shardul Thakur has been a revelation in two IPL games so far. Meanwhile, PBKS won their first game easily against GT.
Shreyas Iyer continued his purple patch as he scored a blistering unbeaten (97) runs and toyed with a GT bowling attack. PBKS will be playing LSG exactly after one week. The franchise has got a nice little rest and will be eager to continue the winning momentum against a fearless LSG team.

A lot was written about LSG's bowling attack before the start of IPL 2025 season, with the likes of Mohsin Khan and Mayank Yadav missing from action. However, in a masterstroke move, LSG signed Shardul Thakur as a replacement and the Palghar express has delivered in both games, picking seven wickets. Thakur's impressive spell upfront has eased some pressure of Prince Yadav and Digvish Rathi. Both youngsters have been excellent in the middle phase of the innings.
As far as LSG's batting is concerned, Nicholas Pooran has taken IPL 2025 by storm by scoring two fifties at a mind-boggling strike rate of over 250. The southpaw has also struck 13 sixes, and is proving to be game changer player for the side. However, Aiden Markram and skipper Rishabh Pant's form is a cause of concern for the side. Both batters have looked out of sorts, and would be eager to et back to run scoring ways.
On the other hand, PBKS made a winning start by displaying excellent batsmanship. Skipper Shreyas led from the front and was well supported by finisher Shahshank Singh, who chipped with (44) runs. While the batting looked solid, PBKS bowlers were guilty of bowling too short to GT batters.

Barring Vijaykumar Vyashak, the rest of bowlers like Marco Jansen, Arshdeep Singh, and Chahal had a off day. Skipper Iyer would be hoping the bowlers bowl tight line and length against a marauding batting order of LSG.
