Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his scintillating form as he enabled Rajasthan Royals (RR) to get to a blazing start against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match number 42 in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season. Jaiswal was very positive from the outset, as RR reached 50 inside five overs. The southpaw attacked Yash Dayal in the second over and took on him for 18 runs. That shifted the momentum in RR's favor and made sure they started well in pursuit of RCB's huge total of 206 runs.
While Jaiswal delighted Bengaluru fans by pulling with absolute disdain, young Vaibhav Suryvanshi (16) also sparkled by hitting a six and four in his brief stay. RCB new bowlers Dayal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Josh Hazlewood were guilty of bowling too short to RR openers, and they were duly punished.
While in the first innings, the Chinnasway pitch behaved a bit two-paced, in the second innings RR batters did not face any difficulty due to extra bounce on offer. The game-changing moment of the first 10 overs was Yashasvi Jasiwal's hitting against Hazlewood. The southpaw scored 26 runs off the Aussie pacer in his two overs. However, Jaiswal perished for (49) runs as the RCB pacer took his revenge.
RCB hunt for wickets as they seek their first home win
This is the fourth game RCB are playing at home. Will they get fourth time lucky it remains to be seen. All their five wins have come on the road, while all their three losses have come at home at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. With RR having raced to a positive start, RCB bowlers will have their task cut out.
