Rohit Sharma stand news

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has finalized the date for the inauguration of the Rohit Sharma stand on Tuesday, May 13. Along with the Team India Skipper, the stands of the late Ajit Wadekar and Sharad Pawar will also be inaugurated. For the unversed, in its 86th Annual General Meeting on April 15, the MCA took a unanimous decision to name the stands after Rohit, Wadekar and Pawar.

The Divecha Pavilion Level 3 stand will be named after the former Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper, who led India to two ICC titles in a span of a year -the T20 World Cup 2024 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 this year. The Grand Stand Level 4 will be named after former India captain Wadekar. He was the first captain who led the team to maiden Test series victories in the West Indies and England in 1971.
