India batter Karun Nair has finally broken his stance on the viral photo of him crying with his buddy KL Rahul during the recently concluded Test tour of England. It was a return to international cricket for the domestic stalwart after a nine-year hiatus. While he could not stamp his class during the five Tests against England, he remained a big talking point on social media. An image of Nair went viral with his close friend Rahul, in which the former looked to be crying while sitting with the latter on the stadium balcony.

However, Nair has confirmed that the photo was a fake one & nothing sort of it happened in the real during the Test series.

"I think that was an AI-generated video," Nair said during a chat with InsideSport. "I don't think that's a real video at all. Yes, we were sitting on the balcony, but after that, everything was, you know, it's not real."

Nair also spoke in length about his comeback series & expressed gratitude to his two Karnataka boys - Prasidh Krishna & KL Rahul for being in the squad during the tough and happy moments of a longish tour.

"Yeah, it was good to have Prasidh and KL Rahul with me. We really had a lot of fun in the last two months. We spent a lot of time together. We discussed cricket, and we discussed everything else about being back in the team. It was a good time, and really glad that we could end the series on a high note," he said.

India leveled the five-match Test series 2-2, Nair reflected the hard-fought series & was great to have experienced it.

"Quite honestly, the entire series was a well-fought one between two amazing teams, and from our point of view, we would have been very disappointed if we had gone on to lose the series because we were performing at a really good level and we deserved to be closer in terms of the scoreline," Nair said.
"We always had the confidence that one wicket can change the momentum either way. So it was all about the belief and the way the bowlers and everyone supported each other, the fight, the never-give-up attitude that we showed was amazing to see," he added.

Notably, Nair was given a long rope in his comeback Test, as he played all five Tests. While initially he was given a role at number three, he was later moved to number six, where he managed to score a sole fifty. While the veteran batter got starts in all of his innings, he failed to convert those into big scores.
